Who doesn’t want to go to Tanzania…?

The country really has everything to offer for an unforgettable holiday. Tanzania has several parks where you can enjoy the unprecedented plains, variety of landscapes and spotting the big five. With a little luck you will also see (tree-climbing) lions, cheetahs, a leopard, a black rhino (which can only be found in the Ngorongoro Crater) or the migration of thousands of wildebeests in Serengeti. If you go further south, you can even spot the chimpanzees!

For the active amongst us, the highest mountain in Africa can climb "the Kilimanjaro" in a 5 to 9 day walking tour. You can visit Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa and thereby the second largest freshwater lake in the world. In the north you will find the tropical rain forest, Usambara Mountains, where you can make endless hikes, have beautiful lookout points over valleys, visit picturesque villages and pay close attention because before you know it you spot those chameleon, olive baboons or the Silvery-cheeked Hornbill. A special place that you should not miss during your trip to Tanzania.

For those who prefer culture, a visit can be made to the Masaai boma village or the Hadzabe tribe.

Finally, Tanzania is also a top destination for beach lovers. On the east coast you will find the islands of Zanzibar, Pemba or Mafia Island. Either; snow-white beaches, thousands of palm trees, a blue sea and plenty of places to chill hard with a cocktail!

Are you an overlander who actually wants to skip Tanzania because it is so expensive? In one of my next blog I will share tips & tricks where the costs are limited and you can see the beautiful beauty of the country.
